Sheriff Paden: “No Shooting at School”

**UPDATE** Sheriff Paden said after an initial investigation the sheriff’s department found that the threat was part of a national “chain email” to cause mass panic in schools, as several schools across the nation received the same email.
Paden said the threat was found without merit, but those types of threats should never be ignored.
ZANESVILE, Ohio– Guernsey County Sheriff Jeff Paden issued a statement Friday in an effort to stop rumors about a shooting at Rolling Hills Local School District.
In a Facebook post Friday Padden states “that there has been NO shooting at the school. He added there was a call to his office Thursday night regarding rumors of a student allegedly threatening to bring a gun to school, and investigators are currently following up on leads of the alleged threats.”
The Sheriff said that as of this time, no threats have been substantiated. He said he has increased uniformed presence at the school campus and the investigation into the alleged threats will continue until it’s determined if the threats were made.
