18 year old Nicholas Clawson honored as an Eagle Scout

NEW CONCORD, Ohio- A local teen has advanced his way to receiving the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout.
Sunday, 18 year Nicholas Clawson was honored before his family and friends as he was advanced to the top ranking of an Eagle Scout.
“I started cub scouts when I was in kindergarden at six years old. I always liked it but it didn’t challenge me as much as boy scouts does now so I learned a lot of skills, life skills. Of course the eagle scout rank is by far the hardest to receive because of the project that you need to do and the leadership that you need to show so I’m very proud to receive that,” said Eagle Scout, Nicholas Clawson.
Clawson said although the celebration is an honor, his main focus is to spend the rest of his life showing what it truly means to be an Eagle Scout.
“The moment I think is less important than the years I’ve spent earning it and the years to come that I will spend showing people what it means to be a boy scout. There’s so much to do in scouting and so many life skills. If you’re not a camping person, that’s not all we do. We’ve got a lot of different merit badges for technology, stem fields, art and anything you could imagine,” said Clawson.
Following the event, a showcase of Nicholas’s work was displayed and light refreshments were served.
