The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol says an accident involving 3 semi tractor trailers early Wednesday morning closed I-70 westbound for over 9 hours near Norwich. Lt. Matt Boyd says around 1:00 a.m. a semi traveling west went off the left side of the road, hit a guardrail and overturned and the trailer busted open. The driver was carrying 40-thousand pounds of beef jerky. Lt Boyd says a second semi could not get over and sideswiped the first semi ripping open its trailer. A third semi struck debris on the highway and was forced to pull into a rest area. The driver of the first semi was cited with failure to maintain control. There were no injuries reported. The Ohio Department of Transportation says the second lane of I-70 reopened at 2:30 p.m.
