A local DJ gives to Big Brothers Big Sisters

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A local DJ was able to give to an organization that reminds him of the help he was given when he a child.

DJ and Owner of K-Sound entertainment, Kurtus Nichols was able to donate $1,000 after he was asked to DJ a private party on a Carnival Cruise. He said he agreed as long the proceeds benefit Big Brothers Big Sister of Zanesville. He said he chose Big Brother and Big Sisters as a way to thank the people who adopted him.

“It wasn’t until I was 5 years old that the mom and dad I have now adopted me. There was a lot of adjustment as a young child growing up and Big Brothers Big Sisters is perfect for situations like that. Where someone growing up might have the inability to be able to connect with family,” said Nichols.

He said he feels Big Brothers Big Sisters makes such a difference in people’s lives. He said giving back to the community is his calling.

“Part of me feels like it’s what I’m supposed to do with what’s been given to me. The blessings and everything over the years to be able to give back to organizations and charities that I support definitely makes me feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” said Nichols.
