
James Lewis Wofter, Sr., 71, of Zanesville, passed away on Sun. April 8, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 15, 1946 in White Cottage, a son of the late Lester Wofter and Dorothy Wofter Shipley.
Jim had formerly been employed at Ohio Ferro Alloy and Mid-Atlantic Canners. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, weekend trips with Theresa, spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to the donut shop, and watching Sponge Bob. He is survived by his wife Theresa Wofter. Children Tami Wofter, Jim (Julie) Wofter, Jr., Tina (Rick) Evans, Tonya Clark, and Sabrina Wofter. Three step-children Michael Barr, Richard (Stephanie) Barr, and Jonte Barr. 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Brothers John (Jan) Wofter, Marvin (Cheryl) Wofter, and Charles (Sandy) Wofter. Sisters Ellen (Vern) Coen, Karen (Bill) Metcalf, and Linda (Jim) Erwin. Brother-in-law Wayne Pettry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father Sheldon Shipley, his brother Ben Wofter, his sister Shirley Pettry, two grandsons Jessie and Ronald Liggett, one great-grandson Armondo Liggett. Those we love don’t go away they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear.
