Kathy J. Butler, 62, of Zanesville, passed away April 13, 2018 at her home. She was born on March 11, 1956 in Galion, Ohio. She was a graduate of Ohio University. She loved to volunteer, giving her time and talent to Genesis Hospice, Salvation Army, Christ’s Table, and the Muskingum County Senior Center. She was an active member of the Indiana Street Recovery Corporation and a secretary for the 12 step program. She loved her dog Missy.

She is survived by two daughters Ginger (Wade) Jones and Amy Butler. Five grandchildren Anthony Eppley, Cade Jones, Cameron Bailey, Devon (Kyle) Phillipi, and Lauren Bailey. One great-grandchild  Jensen Phillipi. Six siblings Vicky (Alan) Keiss, Jewel (Rick) Tanner, Jerry (Yvonne) Buchanan, Ronnie (Geneva) Buchanan, Connie (Jack) Walters, and Brian Smith.

She was preceded in death by her father Elmer “Red” Burkey, her mother Barbara (Ellis) Buchanan, step-father Clarence “Buck” Buchanan, daughter Kimberly Sue Butler, grandson Donald Higginbotham, siblings Freddy Dale Buchanan, Carolyn Faye Riddle, Steve Burkey, and Terry Burkey.

April 17, 2018 at WILLIAM THOMPSON  & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Joe Dunlap officiating.
