Newark Shooting Suspect Captured

Newark Police announced the arrest of a suspect in a Friday night homicide.

Detectives said the Licking County Sheriff’s Office and Reynoldsburg Police assisted in the arrest of 29-year-old Glenn Priest, of Johnstown, around 11:30pm Sunday.

Priest was arrested at a home in Reynoldsburg. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office STAR team made entrance into the residence and after a short struggle Priest was tased and taken into custody.

Priest is accused of shooting and killing Jesse Moffitt, Friday at a home on Hancock Street, in Newark.

The case will be presented to the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office.
