Dillon State Park Brings Community Together for Annual Halloween Spooktacular

A day full of Halloween fun brought the community together at Dillon State Park for its annual Halloween Spooktacular, featuring activities for all ages.

The two-day event offered something for everyone, with more than 20 vendors, food trucks, tractor rides and a variety of seasonal activities. Visitors were also able to enjoy the festivities outdoors while taking advantage of the beautiful fall weather.

“This is our annual Halloween Spooktacular, so the weekend that we celebrate all things autumn and Halloween,” said Michael Durst, a park naturalist at Dillon State Park. “We’re always looking for better and bigger ways to involve the community and get people out here.”

One of the highlights of the event was a costume contest, where three winners were selected from different age groups. The contest gave attendees a chance to showcase their creativity and personalities while adding to the festive atmosphere.

The costume contest was just one of many activities designed to bring visitors together and celebrate the Halloween season.

Durst said the event was free and family-friendly, welcoming everyone to participate, whether they were staying at the park or simply stopping by for the festivities.

“It’s really seeing the community coming together,” Durst said. “It’s not just everybody hanging out in their own bubble. It’s everybody interacting with each other and the events that are happening.”

The annual Halloween Spooktacular continues to provide an opportunity for families and community members to enjoy seasonal activities while connecting with others and experiencing everything Dillon State Park has to offer.

Visitors can look forward to future events at Dillon State Park throughout the year.
