37th annual Coshocton Balloon Festival
ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Coshocton Balloon Festival will be heating up for the 37th consecutive year in June.
The balloon festive has been a staple in Coshocton since it debuted back in 1981. Member of the Organizing Committee, Ken Cramer, said riding in a hot air balloon is a special treat that nearly everyone is excited about.
“The one thing about ballooning, I think is really great, is it touches the hearts of all the ages of the family. All of the areas of the community are pretty excited about it. When I was flying it never ceased to amaze me, I’d be flying over a highway and all of a sudden these truckers are honking their horn because they see me in the sky. Everybody gets kind of excited about balloons which is kind of cool,” said Cramer.
For those who want to ride in a hot air balloon but, are a little worried about heights, there will also be tethered air balloon rides. Cramer said a tethered ride is a great introduction to balloon rides.
“For $20 you can come and get into a balloon and do tethered ride go up about 80-100 feet and get a feel for what it’s like to be in the air in a basket. And that $20 is going to get donated,” said Cramer.
The festival will be June 7th through the 9th. Both Parking and admission to the event are free.
