ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Despite the rain, the Zanesville Jaycees hosted their third annual Food Truck Rally at Zane’s Landing Park.

The Jaycees started the rally as a way to raise funds for community projects. They were looking for a different way to fundraise that would bring out a crowd. Board member Mike Fulmer said food trucks fit the bill.

“So we’ve got 14 total vendors. We’ve got some local vendors,” Fulmer said. “We’ve got trucks from Columbus, from Warren, really all over the state have come down here today and pretty much covered any kind of food that you could want.”

Fulmer said while people are stuffing their faces the money raised from the all day event allows the Jaycees to do good in the community. He said they’re able to fund lots of projects and donate to other causes.

“We don’t designate these funds for any project in particular, but we will pull the money out of our general fund as needed for donations, contributions that we do throughout the year. That can be anything from our scholarship program coming up next month,” said Fulmer. “We’ve donated materials for wheelchair ramps. We recently purchased calculators for a middle school class so they can prepare for their standardized testing.”

The rally ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weaselboy brewery was on tap providing brews for those of age to enjoy.
