Finley Fire Equipment Open House

MCCONNELSVILLE, Ohio- Typically when you see a large gathering of fire trucks it signifies some sort of an emergency, but today the gathering was nothing more than a fun family outing.

Finley Fire Equipment hosted its 10th annual Open House and Product Showcase. Fire departments from all over venture to McConnelsville to hangout with one another and check out new equipment.

“Every year we have an open house and we invite our customers in to see our facility and we put on a lot of our fire trucks on display that we sell,” said John Finley the Owner of Finley Equipment. “Hundreds and hundreds of fire departments come every year. We’ve got fire departments from West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky. We’ve got even seen some people come in from Michigan and Indiana.”

Finley said firefighters sacrifice so much and don’t always get to spend time with their families so they do this event to give back to them. Finley is a firefighter himself and said it’s important to make sure first responders feel appreciated.

“We try to have things for their kids, their grandkids, whatever. Fire safety house, bounce houses. We’ve got the little fire truck running around. And we do all of that for families too to help bring the families in so they can enjoy it together.”

The event was free for families to attend. Guests were treated to complimentary ice cream, kettle corn, oven brick pizza, and hotdogs and hamburgers.
