State Releases School Grades

The grades are in for school districts in Ohio. The Department of Education released the information Thursday morning. For the first time school districts were given an overall grade. In our area here are the results: Zanesville City Schools received a “D”, West Muskingum Schools received a “C”, Tri-Valley also received a “C” grade. Maysville schools earned a “B”, while Franklin Local Schools and East Muskingum Schools received a “C” grade. The overall grade was figured by using six elements which included progress, achievement, gap closing, graduation rates, prepared for success and improving at-risk k-2 readers.
