ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Safety Day at Lowe’s is coming up.

On Saturday, September 29th, the Lowe’s parking lot will be full of local first responders, law enforcement and an air evac. The community is welcome to come and meet the people protecting them. Lowe’s employee, Jennifer Felt, said children will have the opportunity to explore and climb in the different vehicles and can get their face painted if they would like.

“They will be doing fingerprinting, we’ll have the K-9 unit here, water safety, SEAT bus, just a lot of different things going on,” said Felt.

Some of the other departments that will be there are ODNR, AAA, Help Me Grow and the Health Department. Rambo will also be there providing flu shots. Felt said their focus is to make sure the community knows all of the benefits and options available out there when it comes to first responders and law enforcement.

“It just gives the kids, you know, a chance to meet everybody so if they’re ever in a situation where they do need someone, they’re not scared or terrified,” Felt explained. “You know, they’re normal people, they’re here to help.”

Safety Day is free to enjoy and they will have free food and music. It’s from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
