ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Fire Department added new firefighters to their department.

Three men were sworn in to the Zanesville Fire Department at City Hall. Interim Fire Chief Doug Hobson said they talk about the brotherhood and traditions at the department and they fit the qualities. New firefighter, Bryar Mayle, said he hopes to serve the community in anyway they need.

“This is a dream come true,” said Mayle. “It’s something I’ve been working really hard at for the past few years and I’m just glad it’s finally here. I’m super proud.”

One of the other new firefighters, Landon Duhamel, said his goal is to bring new ideas to better improve everyday operations of the Zanesville Fire Department.

“It’s a dream come true. It’s something I’ve been striving for since I came home from the military 6 years ago, so it’s a dream come true today to finally see my dream some true,” said Duhamel.

The third new hire was Jacob Dalrymple. Chief Hobson said hiring three new firefighters adds an extra layer of security for the community and he’s looking forward to having them start full-time on Monday.
