EAA Vintage Chapter 22 Hosts B25 Bomber

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The EAA Vintage Chapter 22 here in Zanesville hosted their Sixth Annual Fall Fly-in/Drive-in the weekend of Friday, September 28th through Sunday, September 30th.
The car show took place on Saturday but the special part of this event was the B25 Bomber. People had the opportunity to tour the bomber and even take a ride.
Dave Shiffer, one of the B25 Bomber Pilots said, “The B25 is a World War II, two engine medium bomber and our aircraft was a trainer during World War II so the pilot’s that worked their way into the war, they trained in this aircraft. This was used on a variety of missions.”
Shiffer said the B25 was made famous by the Doolittle Raid, which happened right after Pearl Harbor. The Champaign Aviation Museum flies all over and provides people the opportunity of seeing the B25 Bomber.
“Well first of all everyone has been super nice and friendly and that’s been great being here in Zanesville,” said Shiffer. “But yeah we came and it’s just fun to interact with families and children and even some veterans, World War II veterans, some of them came today and it’s just great hearing all of the stories and interacting with people. That’s just so much fun.”

The Champaign Aviation Museum is a non-profit organization and you can find more information by going to their website.
