ZANESVILLE, Ohio – There is a recent recall that has been a concern for parents of Boy Scouts.

Ed Mulholland the Executive Director of the Muskingum Valley Council Boy Scouts wants parents to be aware of the issue. The National Office was made aware of the situation and immediately released out information.

“So last week our national office issued a recall for certain of the neckerchief slides that our young scouts wear because of a possibility of lead paint on those slides. We have done a complete inventory of everything we have in our store here in Zanesville and everything we’ve sold and we have never had any of the contaminated slides,” Mullholland said.

There are four styles of the neckerchief slide, the Red Wolf, Green Bear, Orange Lion, and Blue Webelos. Those who bought their’s from the Zanesville store do not need to be concerned.

“I just wanted everybody to feel safe, that their young scout was in good shape and the slide is going to be not an issue for them,” Mullholland said.

If you or someone you know bought them online or at a different store outside of Zanesville, you should take them to the store immediately. No questions will be asked and they will exchange them for you.
