ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System is very excited to announce they are now offering Lynda.com.

This is a brand new database that was created to offer over 12,000 courses to those who have a library card. Sean Fennel, Marketing and Communications Director at Muskingum County Library System, said these courses are high quality videos that are broken into segments so that you can learn at your own pace.

“They have over 12,000 courses led by industry experts. You can learn anything from Photoshop to Excel to job training or interview skills. There’s just so many options on Lynda.com and it’s an incredible resource,” Fennell said.

Once you complete a course you have the option to print a certificate of completion. The State Library of Ohio has bought the license needed for all of the libraries in Ohio to offer Lynda.com.

“So the reason that more people should learn about this or why Lynda.com is such an incredible resource is because it is kind of like YouTube except it’s all filtered for quality,” Fennell said. “So you know when you go into Lynda.com you’re going to be getting high quality videos about the topics that you need and they’re broken down and labeled so you really can target what you want to be able to learn.”

If you are interested in taking courses all you will need to do is go to the libraries website, find the Lynda.com link and enter your library card number and pin. This is available anywhere with internet connection and is free for those with a library card.
