College Application Workshop

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Scholarship Central is hosting the first of five college Preparation Workshops Tuesday, October 8th.

It is from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will take place at Scholarship Central. Katie McCarty, Manager of the Educational Program at Scholarship Central and MCCF, said each workshop has its own theme and you must register ahead of time.

“The one tomorrow is based on the common application so helping students fill that out. We’ll have a short information session on that, about 10 to 15 minutes and then we’ll actually give students and their parents time to actually fill out the application,” McCarty said.

There will be computers available or you can bring your own. There will also be instructors there to answer any questions you may have.

“So the common application can be a little tricky. There’s a lot of things that, especially first generation students, wouldn’t necessarily know, especially if their parents had never gone to college before, that they just might miss if they haven’t really gotten that information,” McCarty said.

They want to provide the information necessary for students to be prepared. It is a free workshop and you can register and find more information on Scholarship Central’s website.
