ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 22nd Annual Souper Bowl Benefit Luncheon is on Sunday, October 21st.

The event takes place at Ohio University and Zane State College Campus Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will help benefit five different local agencies. Those agencies are Eastside Community Ministry, Fellowship of Christ’s Community, Christ’s Table, Salvation Army, and Muskingum County Center for Seniors. Keely Warden, Executive Director at Christ’s Table, said they are all excited.

“We want to remind people that so much of the benefits come right back straight to the community. Over a quarter of a million dollars over the last 22 years has come back into the community through this event,” Warden said.

There will be multiple hot soups, sloppy joes and hot dogs as well as freshly baked cookies. Emcee Jan Smith will be entertaining those who attend and there is a “Gift Card” Raffle that will consist of thousands of dollars worth of gift cards.

“So good food, good friends, everybody comes out after church. It’s a good fellowship time to come out. Visit with people you maybe you haven’t seen all year, have a hot bowl of soup and just do a good thing for the community,” Warden said.

Tickets are $5 ahead of the event at Christ’s Table or $6 at the door. There is also a pay it forward ticket option, which involves buying a ticket and donating it back to one of the agencies who will then give it to someone in need of a hot meal who may not be able to afford it.

Rambo Memorial Health Center will be on site as well to provide flu shots to those who want it.
