Sunday Fire Victim Remains in Critical Condition

The Zanesville Fire Department has called in the State Fire Marshal to help investigate a Sunday night fire.

It happened at 632 Grove Avenue just before 8:00 p.m.

Interim Fire Chief Doug Hobson said an elderly woman was rescued from the burning home and remains in critical condition at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center burn unit.

Hobson identifies her as Judy Hanning.  She was one of four people who lived in the home.

The Red Cross of Southeast Ohio is helping the family with lodging and some supplies.

Hobson said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
