UPDATE: Gas Line Leak Closes Area Roads

11:15 a.m.–EMA Director Jeff Jadwin said the roads have reopened and that the gas has been shut off. Crews are now working to repair the severed line.

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency says a gas line was severed and has forced the closing of some area roads. E-M-A Director Jeff Jadwin says an Ohio Department of Transportation crew was clearing a ditch and hit a four inch gas line, severing it. Jadwin says as a result US 40 at Airport Road and Sonora Road are closed. A repair crew has been called to the scene. Some home and commercial businesses may lose natural gas service until repairs are made. No word on how long that will take.
