Man Escapes Home Invasion

Zanesville Police say a home owner escapes his residence as two masked gunmen enter.

It all happened Monday morning at 811 Curtis Street at the home of Darrin Edwards.

A Zanesville Police Detective says four people were in the home when two men entered with guns, demanding drugs.

Police first suspected Edwards was abducted by the men because he was unable to be located when officers arrived.

“While the two gunmen were concentrating on the two people in the bedroom the homeowner did go out the back door,” said Detective Randy Ritchason from the Zanesville Police Department.

Edwards did return to the residence about an hour and a half after the invasion. Detective Ritchason says no known drugs were taken and the suspects remain at large.

“The officers here are talking to neighbors and just trying to follow up on what we do have right now,” explained Ritchason. “And we’ll go from there.”

The two suspects are described as African American males approximately 6’0 tall with dreadlocks.

Anyone with information should call the Zanesville Police Department (740) 455-0700.
