Newark Man Arrested in Aggravated Robbery
A Newark man faces a bond hearing Thursday after he’s arrested for robbery and felonious assault.
Newark Police say 18-year-old Nathan Dudley and another man encountered Thomas Mathews walking on North 11th Street near State Route 16 before 3:30 in the morning Tuesday.
Detectives Steve Vanoy and Todd Green say that Mathews and Dudley exchanged words and Dudley hit Mathews causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete.
The detectives say Dudley confessed to the crime. Mathews was flown to Grant Medical Center where he remains in the intensive care unit.
Dudley’s case goes before a grand jury August 27th.
