Friends Raise Money For Woman Battling Cancer
1950’s music and classic cars filled the Muskingum County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon.
It is all to support a local woman, Bonnie Mauller, who is battling cancer.
"She was diagnosed with lung and colon cancer and last year she lost her 23-year-old son to cancer and I wanted to do a lot to help the family out with their medical bills, they are having a lot of trouble," says organizer Rita Hess.
Hess says the family is hoping to raise at least a $1,000. Fifty-six cars from all across our area were on display along with food, a Chinese auction and a 50-50 raffle. Hess says Bonnie is quiet and shy, but very good at heart. Those in attendance say it is a good way to help a very serious cause.
"Its a lot of fun, see all the different cars, we have got some dating back to the 20’s and 30’s here," says Hess.
If you couldn’t make it Sunday, but would like to donate to Bonnie Mauller call (740) 408-7111.
