Local Ladies Making National Debut

Keep an eye out for local ladies in purple when you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The 12 member Purple Peddlers are a tricycle drill team that has performed for crowds for 10 years and now they are getting ready for the biggest show of their lives. Mary Lou Every decided to apply to be in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade after she watched it last year.

"We had to do a DVD of our group and in May they called and said that we were accepted and that we would be riding in the parade," tells Every.

The Purple Peddlers have performed all across the nation and even in Canada. But they are true to their Ohio roots.

"For our performance on the TV we are going to use ‘Sloopy’ because we feel we are from Ohio, we are from all over Ohio and we want everybody to know that when they see us," laughs Every.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air here on WHIZ-TV Thanksgiving day  and as your watching make sure to look for the Purple Peddlers.
