Police Officer Saves A Life
One Zanesville Police Officer saves the life of a man on Sunday.
Officer Brian Swingle was out on a call, traveling toward the south end of the city, when he saw something unusual from his cruiser. Lieutenant Tony Courey says there was a distraught individual climbing across the railing on the Y-bridge. Swingle stopped his car and was able to grab the man back over the railing.
"He was as close as we’ve seen for a long time of someone jumping off a bridge, but yes, I think without Brian Swingle being there yesterday, this guy would have definitely jumped, " says Courey.
Swingle was able to secure the man, who was later transported to Genesis Bethesda Hospital for evaluation.
