Zanesville Awarded Grant

The city of Zanesville will receive a grant of more than $200,000 from the Ohio Department of Development.

The D.O.D. announced Monday it will award the "Clean Ohio Assistance Fund" grant to the city to conduct an environmental assessment on the former GNB property on Moxahala Avenue. The money will be used for almost 20 monitoring wells, soil borings, an asbestos survey, data evaluation and reporting.

This assessment will help determine if the property is a suitable environment and if it may need any remediation. "Clean Ohio Assistance Fund" grants are provided to help communities to redevelop properties and create new economic opportunities.
