Genesis Embezzlement Investigation Underway

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a case of embezzlement at Genesis Health Care System. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says the incident was reported on December 7th and involves a former Genesis employee taking a substantial amount of money from Genesis and its volunteer agency known as the Charity Circle. Detective Roush says the investigation is currently underway and once it’s completed will be turned over to the Muskingum County Prosecutor for consideration of charges. Genesis officials are declining comment until the investigation is finished.
