Z-ville Police Identify Body Found In Muskingum River
The Zanesville Police Department today released the name of the victim found dead in the Muskingum River Sunday evening.
Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says it was 29-year-old Jason Knisely of Washington Court House.
Detective Roush says no foul play is suspected in Knisely’s death. An autopsy performed Monday at the Franklin County Coroners Office determined that the cause of death was a head injury consistent with that of a fall.
Roush says Knisely had been staying under the Y-Bridge and alcohol was found at the scene and is believed to be a factor in his death.
Investigators say its unknown how long Knisely had been living in the Zanesville area but Police reports show that he had been arrested on November 5th for a theft offense at Wal-Mart on Maple Avenue and on November 11th for a theft offense at Pick n’ Save on Howard Street.
