Fire on Vista View

An apartment complex was evacuated Wednesday morning after a fire broke out in one of the apartments around two.

According to logs from the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office the fire at 2840 Vista View began in the kitchen area. A deputy on the scene says that the residents of the apartment evacuated. The deputy found the kitchen stove area in flames and attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher and noticed the burner was turned on.

When the deputy exited the building he noticed the attic area was on fire and began awaking other residents whose apartments were attached to the evacuate because the fire could spread.

Muskingum Township Fire Department was called to the scene along with the Red Cross.
