Gibbs Claims Victory

Bob Gibbs has declared victory in the 18th congressional district Republican primary.

Gibbs says his campaign has contacted the 16 board of elections offices, and they know how many absentee and provisional ballots are left to be counted. He says consultants have looked at what’s out there to be counted and the numbers just aren’t there for Fred Dailey to overcome Gibbs’ lead.

Gibbs says his campaign has got to move on, because everyday they keep waiting helps Democratic incumbent Zack Space in the November election.

Dailey trails Gibbs by around 160 votes.
