"I was the Inspector General in the Marine Corp in 2004 and 2007. So I made many visits into Iraq and the war zone to make sure the marines were well served," Bice said.

He said there’s nothing that matches your unit in the military and that bond.

"Whether your young or old you’ll always remember your buddies and those that were apart of your ship crew, your platoon, your squad, and you know you share all of the lives that goes on no matter where your deployed. Whether it’s on a battle field in Afghanistan or a ship in the Persian golf you recognize that the common service and sacrifices that were made," Bice said.

He said he’s made lifelong friends.
