2 Injured in Licking County Motorcycle Accident

Two people are taken to the hospital this evening after a motorcycle accident in Licking County.

It happen on State Route 13, just south of Interstate 70.

Granville Post State Trooper Bryan Lee says traffic had stopped for a car that was attempting to turn, but a motorcycle driven by 41-year-old Paul Chairez failed to slow down and ran into the back of a Dodge Nitro.

Chairez was taken by Medflight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where Lee says his condition has improved. His passenger, 31-year-old Jagvivi Cordero, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital for treatment. No one was injured in the Dodge Nitro.

Lee says Chairez was cited for assured cleared distance.
