Area Woman Indicted in Zanesville Murder
One of two people charged in the murder of Zanesville teenager Tyler Hardin was indicted by a Muskingum County Grand Jury Wednesday.
Prosecutor Mike Haddox says that 19-year-old heather Nowlin of 44 East Berkley Street in South Zanesville was indicted on six counts. They include conspiracy to commit aggravated murder, kidnapping, complicity of aggravated murder, gross abuse of a corpse, and two counts of tampering with evidence. Haddox says Nowlin is accused of planning the murder with her husband and using deception to lure the victim to the site of his death.
"She would be served her indictment and she would most likely be arraigned in a Muskingum County Common Pleas court next Wednesday," says Muskingum County Prosecutor, Mike Haddox.
Heather’s husband. 24-year-old Terrell Nowlin of Columbus is also facing charges in the aggravated murder. His case will go before the Grand Jury next Wednesday.
"the charges against heather Nowlin, the most serious charge is the complicity aggravated murder. Complicity carries the same penalty as the aggravated murder itself and so she faces up to life in prison without the pass of the parole," says Haddox.
Both Nowlin’s are being held in Muskingum County Jail on a 1 million dollar bond each. Victim Tyler Hardin was reported missing by family members on July 10. His body was found by the Muskingum County Sheriffs’ Office on July 18 in a shallow grave in a wooded area of Newton Township.
