Kids Day At The Dentist
Fun is on the agenda for patients at one local dentists office.
Dr. Charles Hawkins, Jr. celebrated "Kid’s Day" at his office on 2560 Maysville Pike Thursday afternoon.
Children were invited to come play before and after their routine check-up.
"Kids all day long, coming in for their preventive cleaning, if they need any work done, we go ahead and take care of it, but were trying to get them all set and ready to go back to school," said Karelle Hopkins, Dental Hygienist.
Hopkin’s believes teaching proper hygiene at a young age is important.
"Dental care is crucial, especially at this age, because there’s so much that can happen so quickly, so we want to be able to identify if they need any treatment as far as fillings or anything, but just the preventive side of it, and it making fun for them, sets them up for a lifetime of good oral hygiene," she said.
Dr. Hawkins had 50 appointments scheduled for Kids Day.
