Taxidermy At The Muskingum Valley Outdoor Show

The Muskingum Valley Outdoor Show hosts all kinds of vendors that cater to outdoorsmen.

C&L Taxidermy was on site at the show to provide information about the art of taxidermy.

"The definition of taxidermy is taking the skin of an animal and prepping it getting it ready to put onto another form or fake animal basically," said Owner of C&L Taxidermy Elizabeth David.

Many people might be surprised to know that taxidermists participate in national taxidermy competitions.

"We’ll all get together once a year and we put our best of the best in front of judges, in front of the public, and let people judge them," she said.

David says they typically mount deer, fish, and other hunted wildlife, but she has received a few strange requests like preserving a human.
