Mayor’s Annual Appreciation Luncheon

Ap Luncheon

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Showing appreciation for staff through a luncheon. Wednesday, October 17th, was the Zanesville Mayor’s Annual Appreciation Luncheon.

Started many years ago by Mayor Jeff Tilton’s mentor, former Mayor Jack Fenton, he felt that the appreciation luncheon was something that he needed to continue. Tilton thought this could be a small way to say thank you to his employees.

“They do a great job all year, and this is just a way that I can give them a little bit of thank you,” said Tilton.

The luncheon will offer many options including some comfort foods like burgers, hot dogs, and potato salad. The mayor even does all the cooking himself with his wife, stepping back from the city duties to working the grill. Tilton says they all have a good time at the luncheon, and he believes showing appreciation is important and brings his employees together. This gives them an opportunity to interact with one another.

“You know, to spend some time together. Different divisions coming together; fire department, police department, our water, waste water. It’s just a great time for us,” he added.

The luncheon took place at the Secrest Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
