Christmas Dinner for Seniors

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The local Fraternal Order of Police lodge hosted their annual Senior Christmas Dinner.
Sheriff Matt Lutz said this is one way that the local law enforcement is able to give back to the community. He said many of the people who attend the dinner are people they see in the community all the time and that getting to serve them is an honor.
“This is the generation that laid the groundwork for us and having these citizens in our community, just paying tribute back to them for everything they’ve done for our community,” said Lutz.
Zanesville Police Department Patrolman Matthew Popadak said not only is this a way to give back but a chance to have a positive interaction with community members.
“Well, just to know that with all the negative news for law enforcement, it’s good to have positive, that way they know we’re not the bad guys, you can come up and talk to us,” said Popadak.
Those who attended the dinner were able to enjoy a meal served by local law enforcement as well as raffle prizes and holiday music.
