A gift for the holidays

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s the season of giving and local students have been busy making gifts to hand out.
The kids from the Zanesville Community High School worked hard growing succulents to give as gifts to Christ’s Table home-bound. Student Jordan Walls said they have been working on a garden all year and wanted to share a part of that with the Christ’s Table shut-ins.
“We wanted to give something to the shut-ins and we wanted to give them a gift and make sure its alive and no care to them at all,” said Walls.
Teacher Katrina Vandergriff said they always do a project at Christmas time for Christ’s Table because it’s a great way to give back to the community and teach the kids the importance of helping others.
“I think everybody needs to learn how to give back,” said Vandergriff. “We’re kind of a world that takes and takes and takes and I’d like the kids to learn how to give back.”
Both Walls and Vandergriff said they hope the plants will be able to put a smile on the faces of all who receive them.
