Volunteers Needed For United Way Tax Clinic

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you are looking for a good way to help the community, you can sign up to volunteer for United Way’s free tax clinic.
The tax clinic’s purpose is to assist residents with filing for their tax returns. This tax clinic program is offered annually and serves more than 1,300 individuals in the community. United Way is looking to increase the number of people they serve, so they’re searching for at least 13 more volunteers to reach their goal of 45 volunteers total.
“If the well being of our community, and you’re looking for a way to get involved, if that’s something that’s important to you. This is a great way to do that,” said Community Impact Director, Becky Clawson.
The clinic will run from January 29 to April 6th of 2019. United Way will also provide extensive training and support for the volunteers using a statewide system prior to the clinic opening. The training will take place at Muskingum County Library System.
“What they’re there for is to help people prepare their tax return, do the data entry, do the computer work, and help you to understand what exactly you’re putting in and what paper work you need to look at,” Clawson added.
