Library Plans For 2019

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The new year is coming up and the Muskingum County Library System is implementing new ways to make their system even better.

They will be kicking off the new year with a volunteer fair, seeking volunteers for the library to fulfill their Outreach Department. The department will do things such as delivering to home bound individuals, and expanding outside the library itself.

“The new Outreach Department is something we’re really looking forward to in 2019. And it should be an incredible opportunity for our public to be able to actually volunteer at the library, and also maybe for people who can’t come into the library to experience the services that we offer by us being able to bring it to them. So that’s something we’re really excited for in 2019,” said Marketing and Community Relations Director, Sean Fennell.

For the next year, the Library System will be bringing faxing, scanning, and colored printing to all of the branch locations. They will also be joining a consortium that will expand the libraries’ collection. Lastly, they are very excited about the redesign of their newsletter.

“It’s also designed with a little bit bigger font so that people can have a little bit easier time reading it. We know that a lot of our patrons request large print books, so we wanted to bump that font size a little bit to increase the readability of the newsletter. We think the color is going to help people differentiate between the different types of programs that are happening as well. So we’re very excited to unveil our new newsletter in 2019,” Fennell added.

The next event from the Library System is a teen virtual reality program at the Duncan Falls Library on Thursday, December 27th at 5 p.m.
