Pet of the Week: Elf On The Shelf

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An adorable black kitten is up for adoption with a name made for the holiday season.

Elf on the Shelf is a three month old spayed female kitten. She has been at the Animal Shelter since September. She is a foster kitten, weighs about 3 pounds, and is great with all animals. The Animal Shelter Society is searching for a good home for her, Elf on the Shelf’s adoption fee is only $70.

“Actually a foster kitten, one of our staff members fostered this kitten. So it’s pretty cool, she’s got the basic socialization skills. And she’s good around kids and very playful, good around other cats,” said Assistant Director, Russ Denny.

The Animal Shelter Society is offering a special on their cats right now. Cats six months and older will only cost $25 to adopt.

“So if a kitten’s not up your ally. If you would like an adult cat, six months or older, right now we have a special for 25 dollars. It includes surgery, vaccinations, microchip, ready to go home,” said Denny.

The shelter will be holding their adoption event Saturday at Pet Valu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
