Donations to Christ’s Table

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It was a packed house at Christ’s Table today, with establishments and people inspired to help those in need.
Foxfire Schools was at Christ’s Table handing out “blessing bags.” This is the second year Foxfire has done this, with staff and students putting the bags together. The blessing bags contained winter necessities such as non perishable food items and hygiene products.
“It’s important for us as a district and as human beings to have empathy for other people. And realize through the stressed life, there’s people that have things way more difficult than all of us. And it warms our heart to be able to reach out and help these homeless people in some small way,” said Superintendent of Foxfire Schools, Todd Whiteman.
Along with Foxfire Schools being there, Dutro Ford Dealership arrived with food donations. Dutro collected the food from their annual toy drive, where people can donate food and toys for Christ’s Table and the Salvation Army. They have collected up to 5 to 6 thousand dollars worth of foods and toys.
“Everyone gets a hot meal for the holidays. I know the toys aren’t here at Christ’s Table, but we took two truckloads of toys to Salvation Army. Christmas time, every kid is going to get something, every family is going to get a hot meal. And that’s what it’s really all about, is helping the people in the community that’s less fortunate,” said General Manager of Dutro, Mark Falls.
If you would like to help donate to Christ’s Table, they are looking for dinner rolls and homemade desserts for their Christmas dinner.
