Artist of the Month: Gallery G

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – First Friday Art Walk is happening this week, and it’s a creative way to kick off 2019.

Every first Friday of every month, the Art District Downtown puts on the Art Walk for people to view different art locations and galleries. People will get the opportunity to admire a wide variety of art, meet the artists, purchase art, and enjoy refreshments and music. The Artist of the Month for January is Gallery G. Gallery G is the oldest art business in the Masonic Temple. They feature art from photography to acrylics, and a children’s art area with excellent displays.

“So it gives us a wide range, and it’s a very family friendly environment. We’re very proud of what we do, and the artists love showing their work,” said Gallery G Owner, Bob Grayson.

Grayson also said he felt honored Gallery G was chosen as Artist of the Month to begin the new year. He also mentioned he felt the Art Walks were a great way to celebrate Downtown Zanesville.

“In celebrating Downtown, we have businesses, we want businesses to stay. I think it elevates the cultural influence upon the community. So that draws jobs, it draws people. I think it elevates the standards of a healthy community,” he said.

The Art Walk runs Friday, January 4th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
