Chamber of Commerce Prepares for 2019 Spring Break Meeting

Chamber Of Commerce

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Chamber of Commerce is preparing for their annual Spring Break meeting.

Per the Chamber’s bylaws they are required to have a meeting annually, but it’s also a fun celebration. Last year they had more than 500 people attend the event. Everyone will meet over breakfast and the attire is strictly casual with spring break themed decorations. The event is extremely informal, as the Chamber celebrates the successes in the local business community.

“Business successes, individual successes. We’ll recognize board members, both outgoing and incoming. We’ll talk about our ambassadors. And it’s a fun event,” said Chamber of Commerce President, Dana Matz.

The Chamber will present the annual ACES awards and Safety Council Awards, along with giving everyone the opportunity to network. This year’s speaker will be Dr. Jim Mahoney, the Former Executive Director for Battelle for Kids.

“As we think about what speaker’s topic’s we want, we are a business organization. So we need someone that can come in and can relate to business people. Can relate to personal development. Can have some fun, deliver a good message, and get the folks motivated to carry on for the rest of the year,” Matz added.

The Spring Break meeting will take place on Friday, March 22nd at 7 a.m. at Ohio University Zanesville’s gymnasium.
