Guided Gallery Sketch Hour Every Month at Zanesville Museum of Art

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Now is the chance to be inspired by the Zanesville Museum of Art’s collections and exhibits.
Every first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., people can join a member of the ZMA education staff and sketch artworks in one of the museum’s galleries. You are able to discover and sketch new pieces every month, as the museum switches the exhibits for each new Guided Gallery Sketch Hour. You can sketch for exactly one hour, and the museum even provides the art materials needed, so you don’t have to bring anything. All ages are welcome, and no experience is needed.
“We’re in a different gallery each month. So you can pick your favorite work, and just sit down with it, and sketch and draw. It’s amazing the things you notice, that you would never notice just by walking through and glancing at it,” said Education Coordinator of Zanesville Museum of Art, Misty Johnson.
Johnson also said events like the guided gallery sketch hour truly provides a creative way for the museum to connect with the community.
“Things like this just really give you another way to experience art work, and to use your creativity and imagination. It’s just another way that the Zanesville Museum of Art is open for use for the community,” she added.
To sign up for the Guided Gallery Sketch Hour, just go onto the Museum’s website. For non members it is seven dollars, for members it’s free.
