T-Rex Tea Party at John McIntire Library

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Kids were given the chance to have a tea party with a t-rex.
This took place at the John McIntire Library. Children from grades Kindergarten to third grade were invited to a special program to get together and eat snacks, read a book, and hang out with a t-rex. This is the first time for the tea party, and it started with the idea from Youth Services Manager, Caitlynn Melick. She said she read the book “Tea Rex” by Molly Idle, and thought it would be a fun idea to get the children involved with the book.
“I read this book and I thought, oh this is something that the library needs to do. We need to host a tea party for little kids, and get them in and get them excited about a topic that they already love. So we’re just going to do a lot of things and have a lot of fun,” Melick said.
Melick also added that special programs like this are geared towards involving the entire family.
“Honestly the library is a place where any family can come. So any age; teenagers, little kids, grandparents. And they can enjoy their time here together. So we like to host these types of programs so that they can come and enjoy what we have to offer for free,” she said.
