ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Community Foundation annouced their 2019 recipient of the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award.

Thomas Sieber, was the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Genesis Healthcare System in 1997, until his retirement in 2007. Sieber told us his feelings on receiving the honorable award.

“Certainly honored to be one of those recipients. I know them all. And have worked with and for some of them. And to be included in that group is just an outstanding feeling for myself,” said Sieber.

The Dick Johnson Award, established in 2000, honors residents in Muskingum County who showcased exemplary achievements in philanthropy, business, and community leaderships.

“Anytime you have a position of responsibility, and I did as part of the healthcare system in town. I was President and CEO of Genesis, and Bethesda before that. And I think it’s a responsibility to give up your time and your talent and your treasure,” he added.

The Award will be presented to Tom Sieber at the Muskingum County Community Foundation’s annual Groundhog Day Event on Friday, February 1st.
