Volunteer Fair a success

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The community had a chance to learn about all they ways they can give back.
The John McIntire Library hosted a volunteer fair Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. Outreach Services Manager Beth Brown said they had a great turn-out and people enjoyed getting to learn about the different opportunities.
“We are thrilled with the turnout,” said Brown. “Its amazing how many people in our community want to volunteer and it’s amazing all the opportunities to volunteer.”
Brown said there were 27 different agencies and businesses there that people had the chance to talk to. She said there were volunteer opportunities for everyone from retired workers looking to give back, to high school students needing to fulfill community service hours. Brown said this is something they hope to do again.
“We will definitely do it again,” said Brown. “Seeing the turn out, its something we definitely want to do again. And in getting ready for this we did not realize the number of people who need to do volunteer hours.”
Brown said if anyone was not able to attend the fair a full list of participants can be found on their website and Facebook page.
