Man Sentenced to Six Years for Robbery

Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court 24-year-old Hunter McNerney of Zanesville was sentenced for the armed robbery of the Exxon gas station on the West Pike.

McNerney had pled guilty to aggravated robbery with a gun specification and theft in connection with the September 14th robbery. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says McNerney robbed the business wearing a mask and carrying an assault style weapon.

Judge Kelly Cottrill sentenced him to six years in prison for the crime.
